FLIR - Thermal imaging technology has been used by law enforcement for. some time, to catch criminals by their heat signature from the air. We have adopted this approach to provide detailed information on how electrical systems are coping with the effects of day to day operations. Together with imaging photography and temperature data, it gives us a clear accurate picture of hot spots and induction produced in consumer units, allowing for changes to be made to correctly reverse the situation. This is especially helpful if for instance the user is still operating a plastic consumer unit and a C3 code has been applied in an electrical inspection. This allows us to determine if heat damage is occurring inside a device , opposed to using the human eye . Thermal imaging has changed the way we see inside electronic devices and electrical systems.
